He captures the conversations of the villagers with real joy. For us, Aberrahmane Sissako’s visit is an opportunity to meet these Africans. Young people talk about their refusal to be dispossessed of the fruits of their labor by their fathers. This screening introduces a break in village life and imposes its festive dimension. The installation of the projectors and the sheet to be used as a screen is followed attentively by the children. Marie Jaoul de Poncheville filmed “Lungta, les cavaliers du vent” in the Amdo and Kham regions, previously off-limits to filmmakers and journalists. The stunningly beautiful images are complemented by a poetically informative text by Pierre Joffroy and Andrew Harvey, narrated by Isabelle Adjani.
