Nine years later, she returned to see the child in her film and paint a portrait of him.
He is 17 years old. Throughout their nine-year separation, they kept in touch thanks to Dr Alain Cantero. Alain Cantero regularly cares for nomads in this region, and in 2001 set up a care caravan that travelled from Karakorum to Lake Kövsgöl. Yönden lives in the South Kangai region, near Karakorum.
The young man now looks after his family. The film shows Yönden in his family life and in his responsibilities as expedition leader of the caravan whose journey we film.
